"Christ Jesus, who, although He was in the form of God,
Did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
But emptied Himself, taking on the form of a servant,
Being born in the likeness of man,
And being found in appearance as a man He humbled himself,
Becoming obedient to the point of death,
Even death on a cross!"
No earthly parent, who is rich beyond measure,
would not find the notion of a humble birth for their first born son repulsive,
But would instead plan the welcoming of this precious child in the most lavish style possible.
No earthly parents would sacrifice their first born son for the sake of another soul,
Regardless of how worthy this soul is,
let alone souls who are unworthy, ungrateful, who would betray repeatedly,
not just to die, but be murdered in the most horrific way with death on a cross!
Yet God demonstrates His own love for us in this,
that despite His glorious riches,
that while we while still sinners,
Our heavenly Father let His beloved Son
to be birthed a humble birth,
to live constrained as man, as a baby depending on other human,
to die the most horrific death.
For God so loved the world
That He gave His one and only Son,
That everyone who believes in Him,
Should not perish, but have eternal life.
May the Holy Spirit open our spiritual eyes, as His people,
May we be empowered to grasp with all the saints
what is the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ,
not just in our head, but deeply rooted deep in our heart.
May that be our celebration in Christmas,
That He came, so mankind can be blessed,
as we partake in the blessings His birth brought!
Merry Christmas!!
